I discovered this amazing artist through the press releases that the record labels and publicist sends us. I like to not only read what is written about them but also look them up online and read there bio’s as well as listen to their music and if they have videos I watch them. JJ Heller has a video of her on the site where she sings her single “Your Hands” in a radio studio. I must have watched the video like four times because while watching it you see this sort of shy and humble person singing these words and you can see what is in her heart just by watching her sing. Some of you may know that this song was played on the show “So You Think You Can Dance” while a young girl was trying out for the show. As huge as this song has become JJ still sings this song in the most humble fashion. To hear the words would make you cry for sure but to watch her sing it makes you totally see that these are words from her heart. Such a humble spirit with such an amazing talent that’s my description of this huge artist with such a humble heart is making ginormous waves in Christian music. If everyone hasn’t heard of JJ yet, just keep your radios on and your hearts open because JJ is becoming one of the biggest names and most amazing talents in Christian music. It is an honor and a great pleasure to introduce to you JJ Heller.
What age where you when you new you wanted to be in music?
When I was in high school, I had a secret wish to be in a band, but I didn’t tell anyone. It wasn’t until I was 19 that I actually started to song-write and perform my one music in public though.
Where you brought up in a Christian home?
Yes.
What was it like growing up for you?
My family was very focused on sports, so I had an identity that was centered on athletics. My parents were always very supportive of my different activities though. When I decided to make the switch to music, they were my biggest fans.
How do you manage singing, marriage, being a mom and your faith all at the same time?
It’s a challenge. I just try to constantly re-evaluate how I’m spending my time and energy.
How and when did you come to faith on your own?
I prayed to receive Christ when I was 5, but it wasn’t until college that I really started to think for myself.
How do you stay grounded in the faith when on the road?
I’m currently in a Bible study and I bring a study guide with me when traveling. I also try to talk to friends and family back home in order to maintain a sense of real life.

We attend a non-denominational church in central Phoenix.
