Joe Israel is a Christian Movie Production company started by Pastor Joe Amaral. Joe who is of Portuguese decent in Canada grew up in the Catholic Church. When Joe was 17 he the Christian rock band "Striper" and came to The Lord from listening to their songs. Joe says that to those who say God can’t use Christian rock music is wrong because it was through that music that he was brought to The Lord.

Joe soon after went to meet his wife and was married then went to Bible College and became a full time pastor. After being a pastor for ten years in the year of 2002 Joe went on a trip to Israel to see the places where Jesus walked and talked like many Christians do. Joe says that he had a deeper feeling and connection to the Jewish people after his first trip. He began feel that knowing more about the culture of Jesus would help Christians to have a deeper understanding of the Bible. Joe soon found himself traveling to speak in different churches to teach about the Jewish culture.

Joe says that his deep love for God and knowing that God brought him out of a life of sin and knowing that he didn’t want to go back into that life. It keeps him grounded in his faith while he is traveling on the road. Staying connected to his wife and family also helps to keep Joe grounded while he is away.

While telling of his travels and about the Jewish culture many people began to have a desire to know about and see the things that Joe had seen in the Holy Land. After speaking to a Jewish businessman friend telling how if he could only capture the things he saw in the Holy land on film and put Israel on Christian television to show that it was safe and a place that people want to see then others would want to go see for themselves. The friend agreed and even offered to sponsor a trip. Joe's friend even went further and told the Israeli government what Joe wanted to do and they offered to pay for half of his trip. In 2005 the Israeli government gave Joe free airline tickets and free hotel stay. Joe went all over the country shooting and teaching on location. This was the beginning of Joe Israel Productions.

While Joe planned to be a Pastor of The Word God was planning for a much deeper and larger ministry that Joe ever imagined. Joe's passion for the Jewish culture and the religion to show the humanity of Jesus Christ and how the language of the culture had biblical meaning. Joe counts this ministry as a blessing in that he is able to help people understand the roots of Jesus.
