Runaway City’s debut album “Armored Heart” was just released this week and this is one you must get. The album starts with a guitar blast then goes into a hard rock that leads into amazing vocals.

Song 1 “Daybreak” is a declaration of hope. And I really just love the vocals in this song. Josh has a powerful voice but that sort of blends into the music and simply becomes another instrument.

Song 2 “Scars” is all about the music for me. I love the guitars and drums in this one. But the lyrics are also pretty awesome in this one. It’s a song that all young people can relate to.

Song 3 “Fade” is all about the vocals. The music is all hard rock but the vocals show the range of Josh’s voice. But what’s really cool is that this one is a sort of inspiration song that tells us who are hurting about the love that Jesus has for us.

Ok so I also love the vocals in song 4 “Longing” too. Both Josh and Tyler show the ranges of their voices. Actually I love the voices so much in “Longing” that I forget that there are instruments playing in the background. For me it’s all about the voices and lyrics. The instruments simply compliment the vocals.

Ok so my most favorite song number 6 “Only You” is a hard rock love song to Jesus. Yes a hard rock love song and it is awesome! Hard rock lovers will really love this one for sure. No screams just amazing voices rocking out with the guitars and drums.

I won’t go through each song. I want some of them to be a special surprise but I will just tell you about the last song which showcases each of the band member’s talents. The vocals, the guitars, the base, the drums the lyrics are all awesome and make the album finish with a bang! But what’s really cool about it is that the lyrics leave the listeners with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. It’s the perfect ending to the album.
