Most of us have heard of the tween show on the cable channel where the girl has her own internet show. I’ve tried to watch it myself a few times. And while some of the things are funny I find that most of it is too adult for tweens. But this is the world in which we live. And it is not only acceptable to be promiscuous as young adults but to also make fun of it.

These shows are targeted towards youth. But as Christian youths while they are permissible they are not profitable for our spiritual growth. So what do Christians do? Do we have alternatives for funny situation while remaining pure and sinless? Yes! We do. We have an even funnier show than what the world has. And it’s not just for Christians it’s for anyone who wants to laugh at everyday life.

The Gary Bella show created by Travis Set a graphic designer and Christian artist, who decided that it was time to create something for all young people to watch that was clean, funny, and has a Jesus message. The Gary Bella show proves that Christians know how to be funny too but without compromising our faith.

The Gary Bella Show is an internet series that follows the life of a young odd ball through high school. The show has a group of corky characters who all have their own weird issues but Garry is a teen who shares his life with the audience through his personal journal.

Travis, the show’s creator was not at all in high school like the character he plays on the show. Travis was an angry teen who had no idea who Jesus Christ was. Always fighting with his mother, Travis was going down the wrong road. Drugs, girls, and being an enemy of God was what Travis as all about. His constant fighting with his mother made him an even angrier teen.

While home for Easter break from college Travis fought with his mother constantly. His life was all about worldly things that he used to try and fill the dark whole he had in his heart. One night Travis hit the bottom. In his bed he cried out to God to prove Himself. Travis had never prayed before. But his first prayer changed his life. He told God he was tired of the drugs, alcohol, girls and things in life that didn’t fulfill him. Travis was ready to end his life when a strange thing happened the next day. While playing basketball with his cousin at a park in Naples Florida he met a homeless man who looked just like his grandfather who had passed away. Travis says that normally he would have simply walked away but the look the guy had compelled him to listen to him. The man told him how when he was Travis age he was in College being a partier and living a worldly life. Travis says that the man almost repeated his own life back to him. His story was a lot like the homeless man. But then the man told him that The Bible changed his life. He asked Travis if he knew who Jesus was and if he knew what Jesus had done for him on the cross? The man began to share the gospel message with him.  Next he asked how his relationship was with his mother. Travis was blown away when the man told him that his relationship with his own mother was bad at that age but how his mother died before he was able to say he was sorry. He then said “it must be nice to have a mother” and winked his eye at Travis and disappeared. This was the beginning of a new life for Travis. God has shown up and answered his first prayer. His life was changed that very night. The drugs, alcohol, and girls were over. He was a new creature that very night.

Travis was always fascinated with TV sitcoms. But the world didn’t have much to offer. It took a couple years before he would put together his own show. Travis says he realized just six months ago that he knew many talented people in his church who could do the technical duties involved with making a sitcom there were also others at his church who were funny and could act. Using Web 2.0 Travis put together his own Internet comedy show.
