It isn’t very often you find successful beautiful young women who are humble in the music business. But when you are talking about women of faith it’s not so hard to find.

Everlife is one of those bands who it is a pleasure to talk to ask well as see perform. These three young ladies were not only humble but strong in faith. Amber, Sarah, and Julia are sisters who work together in everything they do. They work together, help to lift each other up, and encourage each other in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Everlife has actually been performing together since the youngest was only eight years old. But have not wavered in faith nor have they backed down from the message. They told me in an interview that Jesus was not only a friend that is with them at all times but their King of which they pray to tremble before at all times. But not only is Everlife a group of believers they are also awesome performers who love to do what they do. We learned a little bit about the girls who were so gracious to share their time with us. Please enjoy the interview CornerStone did with Everlife.

Were you raised as Christians?

(Amber) our parents came to The Lord right when they got married so we were raised in a Christian home.

When did you come to faith on your own?

(Sarah) I think I was 11 or 12 and Amber was like 13. We went to this youth conference and it was so cool because the Pastor came down on this Harley and we were like “this is awesome” and the worship was incredible and I remember the speaker talking about how you can grow up in a Christian home but you need to have your own personal relationship with Jesus. So Amber and I walked up and from then on we were like “OK, this is our own thing we’re not just living off of what are parents say but we actually believe this for ourselves.

(Julia) We went on a mission’s trip to Brazil when I was 11. And that was the turning point for me going off on my own and believing and trusting in Christ on my own and not just my parents or my sisters.

So how do your stay grounded in the faith when you are away from home and church?

(Amber) the appropriate answer is that you have people around you that support you and your read your Bible. And I really believe that those things are true but when you ask God to take control of your life He’s going to keep you grounded weather you like it or not. A lot of the adventures we have been through personally and with Everlife is definitely a testament to that. When we were kids, we said “God this is for You” and he took us seriously. Even in our darkest times there’s never been a question of “God are You there?” or what are we even doing this for? It’s always been am I going to be up to the task.

Where do you guys go to church?

(Sarah) we live in Franklin Tennessee and we go to a really great church called “Journey”. We love it because there’s a lot of other artist that go there as well. So we can all kind of relate to each other. And our Pastor is one of the most honest and real men we have ever known. And he is all about you figuring out your own journey and what that looks like and not just caring about how many people come to the church but how real their relationship with God really is.

What scripture do you guys cling to?

(Amber) My favorite scripture growing up as a kid was always Jeremiah 29:11. Whenever I see that scripture I feel like no so much that everything is going to be OK but that God knows what’s coming and that I can rest in that fact.

(Julia) My favorite scripture is Psalm 91. That was my second tattoo I think. And I live by it every day. I am such a worry wart. I worry about everything and it says in 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers and under His wings you will find refuge. And I’ve find so much comfort in those words.

(Sarah) I think my favorite verse has become Psalm 34:1 and it says “I will bless The Lord at all times. His praise will continually be in my mouth”, because it’s a very huge thing to say and actually live up to. Because if you think of everything do and say throughout the day it doesn’t always praise God at all. So it’s kind of very challenging when you think about that and to remember it and try to apply it to your life every day.

What person in the Bible would you say you could relate to the most?

(Amber) As growing up we sort of just think of them as just characters in a story and not necessarily as real people. So I like to think of that question as “who would I have been friends with” in the scripture if I had been around in that time. And as much as I like to think that I would have been friends with Paul, because he was like the stud of the day after all that stuff happen to him but I probably would have just been scared of him. And I think that Thomas and I would have been hanging out a lot. Like saying “is this really happening?”

(Sarah) I think I could have hung out with Paul. He was pretty crazy, pretty hard core. I tend to do things sometimes that people think I’m nuts for doing. I think I could relate to him.

So what’s been your biggest challenge as a band being Christians?

I think our biggest challenge on the road has been everything but our faith. We have had more time to speak out our faith and try our best to live it out. I think our biggest challenge has been not sleeping. When your body is run down, you don’t make good decisions. When our schedule gets off schedule we just become crazy and we’re mean. I think that’s our biggest struggle being consistent and staying in our right mind.
